Post Title: Administrator (Student Enquiries and Enrolment Team)

FTE: 1FTE (working 37 hours per week)

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Salary: UH4 £24,248 with potential to progress to £27,181 pa on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield. The post holder may occasionally be required to work from other Student Administration (Ask Herts) hubs, including working from the de Havilland campus (Hatfield). Hybrid/remote working is applicable outside of key semester A and B registration activity.

Main duties and responsibilities

As an administrator in the Student Enquiries and Enrolment Team you will be principally responsible for working with the team to deliver an efficient and effective registration process that facilitates a positive student experience for new and returning/progressing students. You will work closely with the Team and Deputy Team Leader to ensure high quality student data supports the university in delivering statutory returns and enables effective strategic decision making.

You will work closely with other teams within the Student Administration Service and other key stakeholders in Academic schools and other areas of the University to build support communities for our students.

Skills and experience required

You will be able to demonstrate relevant administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation and with experience of customer or student databases and data handling. Higher and/or education experience and that of student record systems will also be beneficial. You will have experience and understanding of processes and procedures, driving improvements, and experience of supervising staff to produce efficient and effective results.

You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be a good team player and work collaboratively with the team to support continuous improvement of products and services. You'll be a good oral and written communicator, with the ability to work to a high standard, especially during pressurised/busy periods.

Qualifications required

A Minimum of 5 GCSE passes at or equivalent A-C, including Maths and English (or equivalent). Educated to A-level or equivalent standard would be desirable.
