    About us

    The Curtin University-based Mentally Healthy WA's Act Belong Commit campaign is a statewide mental health promotion campaign which encourages people to take action to improve their mental wellbeing. The campaign includes paid and unpaid media advertising to get the message out and partners with over 300 organisations including government agencies, local governments, non-government organisations, peak bodies, universities, schools and grass roots community groups who offer mentally healthy activities. Mentally Healthy WA's mission is to enhance the mental wellbeing of Western Australians by strengthening individual resilience and building community cohesion.     Your new role We are seeking an Administrative Support Officer to provide administrative and logistical support to the Act Belong Commit program. This role will be based at our Bentley campus where you will work with a dynamic and close-knit team. Tasks may be wide-ranging and will include those listed below:

  • Respond to incoming enquiries and requests in a proactive, accurate, customer-focused and professional manner
  • Manage the provision of resources to Act Belong Commit partners, working closely with external supplier Quickmail
  • Prepare documentation (e.g. reports, minutes of meetings, correspondence), using the full range and features of MS Office applications, in accordance with the requirements and standards of the work unit
  • Coordinate arrangements for and schedule meetings and appointments including inviting attendees, booking venues and arranging catering, as required. May manage another staff member's diaries
  • Facilitate the procurement of consumables for the area (e.g. stationery, equipment) and partner resources within delegated financial limits and in consultation relevant school/area staff
  • Maintain and update records and information within the work unit via the established records management system and procedures, including archival or disposal in accordance with University policy and relevant legislation, to ensure accuracy of filing and ease of retrieval
  • Undertake other activities which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above.
  • Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with skills in in a wide range of applications including the Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of general administrative support and the ability to apply skills to a varied range of different tasks
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently with general direction
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people in a clear and professional manner, with cross cultural sensitivity
  • Demonstrated ability to organise time and work activities according to priorities and to meet deadlines
  • As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
