Curtin's School of Nursing is the longest-established school of nursing in the Australian university sector. The school delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in nursing, midwifery, oral health therapy and paramedicine.

Your new role We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Administrative Officer to join the School of Nursing professional team. You will be a core team member, working collaboratively to facilitate the delivery of day-to-day administrative activities and special projects to support the School of Nursing's operational and strategic outcomes.

In this role you will:

  • Provide executive support to the School Leadership Group and committees
  • Perform a wide variety of general administrative duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Schedule, administer and support meetings and events for the school including venues, catering, correspondence and promotional materials
  • Facilitate general purchasing and procurement in accordance with Curtin policies and procedures
  • Providing administrative support for strategic projects and activities
  • Actively contribute to the development, review and continuous improvement of administrative procedures within the school
  • We are looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to coordinate the administrative requirements of a functional area.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in both oral and written communication with a well-developed cross cultural sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to use discretion and knowledge to determine appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Completion of a relevant qualification and/or considerable relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience working in a university environment is desirable but not essential
  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
