The Department services two programs, two degrees, one diploma, the Child Development Lab and the CSSW Communication Labs.
About the RoleThe Department of Child Studies and Social Work is hiring a Departmental Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Chair, this role functions as the co-lead for daily office operations, providing a range of general administrative duties to ensure that effective administrative support is provided to the Chair, Academic Director (Social Work Program), and Department of Child Studies and Social Work (CSSW). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing assistance to ensure effective academic program delivery; providing a resource to Program Coordinators, Academic Advisors, faculty and staff; DCU entry related to Scheduling; assistance with budget reporting, tracking and reconciliation; capital budget; and liaison to the Mount Royal University community and external community..
The incumbent for this position is required to understand and work within University systems, policies and procedures, providing academic administration to the Department including tenure administration, contract and full time faculty administration and hiring, FAST, finance, Chrome River Expense Reporting and PCard, CAQC Program Review, Banner, eRecruiter, Instructor Workload Reporting, and other duties as assigned.
