Student Welfare and Support Services (SWSS) – Counselling Service

Administrative Officer, Fixed Term 24months (Aug 2024-Jul 2026), Part time, 22 hours per week year round,

Grade 4: Salary £25,138 - £28,759 p.a. pro rata

About the Role

This is an exciting new role created to support the ongoing development of the student and staff training branch of the University Counselling Service part of Student Welfare and Support Services. The post holder will provide administrative support for the Peer Support Programme, Mental Health Awareness Training and Counselling Service Teams with tasks such as; setting up trainings, supervisions and workshops using the CoSY booking system, booking rooms and responding to queries coming into the Peer Support and University Counselling Service inboxes.

About You

Candidates should be able to demonstrate

  • Excellent IT skills including using MS Office, working with a database and applying technology in order to improve working practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively whether in person, online or in writing
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working under pressure, to a deadline and with conflicting demands
  • Able to work independently with a positive approach to problem solving alongside having experience of effective team work
  • Able to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with policies and procedures.
