Curtin's School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry (MCASI) is
renowned for its unique, ground-breaking combinations of critical and creative
teaching and research in the domains of digital futures, communications,
social justice, international relations, defence and security, creative arts,
and cultural industries. MCASI is one of three schools in the future-focused
Faculty of Humanities.
Your new role
This position provides general support and administrative assistance, as
directed, to support relevant staff and activities of the school. The
incumbent performs tasks which require knowledge of work area processes and an
understanding of how they interact with other related areas and processes.
The key responsibility of this role is to:
Collate information for staff within the area, as requested.
Prepare documentation, using standard features of MS Office applications,
in accordance with the requirements and standards of the work unit.
Respond to general requests for information and answer straight forward
inquiries from school/area customers, seeking guidance or escalating
queries to appropriate staff, as necessary.
Assist staff with setting up of events and meetings, as required and
directed.
Act as the first point of contact for the reception of visitors and
internal/external clients of the area.
Undertake general clerical tasks such as photocopying, distribution and
dispatch of documentation and correspondence.
Process relevant forms and enter data/update records in a timely and
accurate manner.
Update records and information within the work unit in line with
established records management systems and procedures.
Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be
expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and
responsibilities as listed above.
We are looking for someone with…
Completion of year 12 secondary school education with relevant work
experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and
education/training.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as
part of a team.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and professional
manner.
Organisational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrated computer literacy with skills in the use of a variety of
applications, including word processing, spreadsheet and database
packages.
As this is a Continuing role, you will require permanent work rights in
Australia to be considered.
