Administrative Assistant II (holding the functional title of Manager(Operations)) in HKU Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality (Ref.: 524609) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree, with at least 6-8 years of working experience at a supervisory level within the context of the education sector or a public/quasi-public organization. They should be competent communicators with a strong sense of responsibility and be able to keep their subordinates motivated to deliver quality work under tight deadlines. They should have an excellent command of English and Chinese; a high level of interpersonal, organizational, time management, and decision-making skills; as well as the ability to plan and implement large-scale international projects.
The appointee will play a vital role in assisting the Directors to run the daily operations of HKU Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality. He/She will lead a team of executive and technical staff to support a wide range of administrative functions including organizing international conferences, project planning and management, human resources, financial budgeting, research administration, space planning and utilization, office management, etc. He/She will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies in collaborative and team-based approaches, and perform other duties as assigned. Working outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of the basic salary.
