  • About This Opportunity

    We are seeking a motivated, energetic and organised Administration Officer to support the effective and efficient operation of the UQ Pro Bono Centre. This role requires effective administration, coordination and interpersonal communication skills, effective organisational and time management skills and be committed to providing a high level of customer service.

    Reporting to the Director, UQ Pro Bono Centre, the role is responsible for providing high quality student administration services and academic administrative support for the School's Pro Bono Centre.

    Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be the primary contact point for student, staff and stakeholder enquiries

  • Employ a high level of professionalism in the delivery of customer service; undertake all tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Coordinate the Pro Bono Roster, including student application and selection process, liaison with pro bono partners, the development of new pro bono opportunities and oversight of students' progress.

  • Screen applicants for LAWS5180, Clinical Legal Education and be the primary point of contact for clinical students and external supervisors.

  • Organise Pro Bono student orientation sessions and activities each semester, and regular supervisor sessions for external supervisors.

  • Regularly evaluate pro bono activities, including seeking feedback from students and pro bono partners.

  • Support the public profile of the Centre, including by drafting and updating website content, creating and drafting newsletters and reports.

  • Organise and promote Centre events, including registrations, room bookings and catering.

  • Maintain Pro Bono Centre procedures for effective Centre, staff and volunteer coordination.

  • Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.

  • This is a Part-time, 80% FTE Continuing position . At HEW Level 5 , the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range of $77,396.47 to $86,029.78 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $90,553.87 – $100,654.84 per annum.

    About You
  • Qualifications and training equivalent to an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Communications; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Experience in an administration or communications role, preferably in a tertiary education institution or a community service organisation.

  • High level computer proficiency in relation to word processing, database management and spreadsheets.

  • Demonstrated high level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of University policies and procedures in relation to student matters, or capacity to rapidly acquire such knowledge.

  • A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service.

  • Empathy and ability to communicate with students, including those with disabilities and from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to set own priorities, monitor work processes, manage time appropriately, meet regular deadlines, initiate and take follow up action.
