Administration Assistant Manager at the rank of Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Swire Institute of Marine Science, Faculty of Science ((Ref.: 525767), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The Swire Institute of Marine Science (SWIMS) is a research facility supporting more than 90 researchers working on marine science related fields. Applicants should possess a relevant Bachelor's degree, with at least 3 to 5 years' demonstrated experience in office/laboratory management in tertiary institution(s). A higher degree would be an advantage. Applicants should have in-depth knowledge of the administration of research grants and management of research programmes; an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and knowledge of website management and content curation. They should be able to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently to meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision, and have the ability to work with multiple parties. Applicants with less experience/qualifications may be considered for appointment as Administration Executive.

The appointee will be responsible for managing the SWIMS academic block at Cape d'Aguilar and research-related matters, including the SWIMS one-line budget, research grants and donations; overseeing key projects and drafting memoranda of understanding; corresponding and liaising with stakeholders (e.g. Faculty, the University and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department); preparing SWIMS promotional materials and annual reports, as well as any other duties as assigned by the Director.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
