Under the general supervision of the Department Administrator and a full-time faculty mentor, the successful candidate will prepare and teach College Success courses assigned by the department.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with:
(a) substantial graduate coursework in pedagogy, curriculum, and instruction or
(b) five or more years of teaching experience in the area of College Success.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Education, special education, educational psychology, counseling/advising, adult education, or closely related field.
2. Experience teaching adults.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. Ability to communicate subject matter to students. 2. Ability to use a computer and other instructional technologies. 3. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, culture, ethnic background, and abilities, to maintain good working relationships across the College. 4. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.

The SLSS Department teaches a wide variety of courses. Successful applicants will be assigned to courses that match their area of expertise.

In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester by semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment. 3. Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within 30 days of hire. 4. Postings for part-time/adjunct faculty positions may not indicate an immediate need. Applicant pools are held open so that we can quickly review applicants when a need arises. If you do not hear from us, it means we do not yet have an opening. Applications are purged after one year. Please reapply each March if you want to stay in our application pool. 5. In accordance with Board of Regents policy, SLCC's Human Resources will conduct a criminal background check on instructors if concurrent enrollment (K-12) students are assigned to classes.
