This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part- time/adjunct assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Job Description Summary ADJUNCT – PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (PTA):

Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.

Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Courses may include online courses and/or dual- credit/early college classes.

Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.

Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.

Minimum Qualifications Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) requires an Associate's degree in Applied Sciences.

Physical Therapist (PT) requires a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.

Current licensure as a PTA or PT in Texas.

Three (3) years experience as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) OR licensed Physical Therapist (PT). Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds.

Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success. Knowledge of a learning college and/or knowledge of learning communities.

Ability to meet the faculty requirements as stated in the Evaluative Standards for the accreditation of Physical Therapist Assistant Programs.

Competency in area that adjunct is responsible for teaching will be verified through review of CE courses, academic training, in-services, or number of years job experience in specific area. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a clinical instructor.

Ability to work with students with special needs based on the ADA.

Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills.

Computer literacy.

Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association. Special Instructions to Applicants Applicants must reside in the state of Texas and be eligible to work in the United States.
