Position Title Adjunct Instructor - Construction Technology

Job Duties Butler Community College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Construction Technology courses at the El Dorado Correctional Facility. Construction Technology courses will be focused in one or more construction subject areas: OSHA10, Craft Fundamentals, Intro. to Craft Skills, Intro. to Carpentry, Floors and Stairs, Ceiling, Walls and Building Systems, Roofing and Exteriors, Cabinet Making and Installation, Intro. to Electrical, Intro. to Masonry, Intro. to HVAC & Plumbing, and/or Construction Management.

Butler Community College can arrange a tour of the correctional facility for interested applicants. Applicants can email [email protected] to arrange a tour. Campus Locations EDCF Nature of Position Adjunct Instructor If Part Time, list Working Hours Salary (Commensurate with education and experience) $850 per credit hour taught.   • Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.

  • Maintain effective and professional verbal and written interactions with peers, students, supervisors, and other staff.
  • Use diplomacy and tact in dealing with difficult situations or people.
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills. Is receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Ensures appropriate notification to supervisor for absences, and ensures that work is covered.
  • Completes assigned work; meets deadlines without reminders/follow-up from supervisor or others.
  • Perform work conscientiously with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to use a computer and software applications.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

    • Required experience

  • Strong knowledge of construction industry standards and processes
  • Strong knowledge of tools and equipment used within the construction industry

    • Required educational background Associate degree in construction technology, carpentry or related field; 5 years (10,000 hours) minimum experience without an associate degree.
