About the role
The First-Year Seminar Program at Mercy University seeks part-time adjunct instructors to teach first-year seminars to incoming freshmen. The First-Year Seminar is designed to acclimate students to college life. Instructors support students in navigating their first semester by teaching essential skills for a successful college career, introducing university resources, and encouraging students to think about their career pathways.
The ideal candidate will be open to mentoring students, leading a discussion- based seminar course, and contributing to a collaborative team of colleagues.
Successful candidates may be offered the opportunity to teach up to three sections. Familiarity with Mercy University is a plus. Candidates may also be asked to assist with program assessment and development and to attend select programmatic or professional development meetings.
