Position Summary:
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) fosters a dynamic and transformative educational experience by providing resources, opportunities, and strategies that support the teacher-scholar model and enhance student-centered learning in the classroom and beyond. CETL develops workshops, events and resources for faculty through initiatives such as Faculty Foundations, the annual Excellence in Teaching and Learning Summit, a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Faculty Fellows program, a mini-grants program, Good Reads, and more. CETL provides support and maintenance for the Canvas Learning Management System and related tools (Kaltura, Kaltura Reach, Respondus Lockdown Browser, NameCoach Roster, LibAnswers, Turnitin, WordPress, etc.) The Center also provides 1-on-1 coaching appointments in instructional design and pedagogy for faculty.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of CETL, the Accommodations Support Specialist for Curriculum and Assessment will provide guidance and support for faculty on instructional design, with specific focus on the creation of custom coursework for students with disability-related accommodations. This person will have a strong background in instructional design principles with experience in Universal Design for Learning and making course content accessible. They will assess faculty and student instructional technology requirements, recommend solutions, develop training materials, and offer direct troubleshooting for faculty. They will also have excellent collaboration and communication skills and demonstrate ability to support individuals with a wide range of technical skills.
