This full–time post is available on a permanent basis.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home but as a customer facing service we need to maintain a presence on campus throughout the year which you and the team will be responsible for providing.
Summary of the role
As part of Residential Services, the Accommodation Office are a key customer- facing team; providing information, advice and support to prospective and current students regarding their accommodation at the University of Exeter. We are responsible for processing all applications for over 6,500 University- owned, managed or approved bed spaces, including allocating and issuing contracts, together with providing guidance on private sector options.
You will offer mentoring and coaching to team members so that they have the training and support required to enable them to achieve our business goals.
You will be responsible for managing the processes relating to application and allocation of accommodation, making sure that all residents are issued with tenancy agreements and are charged correctly for their accommodation. You will liaise with other service providers to ensure that the Accommodation team provide an efficient service to our partners as well as our customers.
You will also need to be able to give advice to enquirers who may need to find housing in the City and be able to offer them support to seek their accommodation.
As part of your role, you will be responsible for organising and delivering the accommodation experience at Open Days and Offer Holder Visit Days and for presentations to prospective students and their families both in person and virtually.

We are looking to recruit a professional, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is able to inspire and lead our team of coordinators and manage the day-to-day operation of the Accommodation Office.
We seek to appoint someone with proven, previous experience of leading a team and dealing with all aspects relating to staffing matters.
You will be responsible for ensuring the team remain committed to delivering a positive student experience, with a particular focus on continuing to develop the way we engage with students.
You will be passionate about delivering an outstanding customer service experience, along with possessing the ability to deal with student issues tactfully, sensitively and with total confidentiality. Attention to detail, accuracy and a high standard in both written and oral communications are essential requirements for the role as well as proven excellent IT and organisation skills.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a student housing role including a knowledge of tenancy law.
