Job description

Loughborough University Library

Academic Librarian

Part Time (0.8 FTE) Open-Ended

Loughborough University Library is seeking applicants for the role of Academic Librarian. Reporting to the Library Academic Experience Lead, the post holder of this open-ended role will work as part of the Loughborough campus Academic Services Team and will be responsible for liaising with academic schools to ensure that Library services are relevant, forward thinking and offer academic excellence to support the current and future learning and research needs of staff and students.

This is a very exciting time to join the University Library, as we implement the new University Strategy and look to further develop our support for students and staff. The post-holder will be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with academic staff and University colleagues. Together with team colleagues the post-holder will design and deliver high quality student and researcher development opportunities and provide discipline expertise and advice on content to support the needs of learning, teaching and research and to inform curriculum and scholarly practice, innovation and success.

The University is very highly regarded and the Library enjoys excellent staff and student feedback.

This is a part time, open-ended position based at our attractive Loughborough East Midlands campus. Whilst the role is expected to be primarily campus- based, there are possibilities for some home working with further information available on our Website.

We are committed to equality of opportunity, eliminating discrimination and creating an inclusive work environment for everyone. We are keen to increase the diversity of our staff community.

For informal enquires please contact Jen De Lillo, Academic Experience Lead, University Library: [email protected] or 01509 222674.

Application closing date: Sunday 28 April 2024

Interview date: Friday 17 May 2024
