    Position Summary:

    The Office of Records and Registration offers a customer friendly, technologically advanced support services to the campus community. These services include Support of New Student Orientation, Course Catalog Inventory, Schedule of Classes, Enrollment, Grading, Credential Evaluation, Degree Audits & Commencement Reporting,

    Electronic Academic Plans, Maintaining Student Records, & Transcript Production & Transactional Reporting of Student and Class Enrollments plus reporting to support the Enrollment Management objectives of the College.

    The Academic Evaluator reports to the Associate Director for Academic Evaluation. The Academic Evaluator is responsible for developing and implementing customer friendly procedures and processes that assist students in progressing towards graduation while maintaining the academic integrity of the institution. Ability to initiate the use of functionality in Oracle/PeopleSoft (PAWS) as it relates to Academic Advising. Ability to work in highly technical, customer friendly environment using the Oracle/PeopleSoft Advising Module and other web based advising tools expected.

    Main Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate undergraduate student credentials via the degree auditing process.
  • Evaluate and award course units from external colleges or agencies that are in compliance with college policy.
  • Meet with students on an individual basis and respond to student inquiries.
  • Meet with transfer prospects during the admissions recruitment period. This could entail traveling to the community colleges with the admissions office to discuss the transferability of credits with prospects as well as transfer counselors.
  • Update student academic records, in PAWS based on waivers and exceptions received from academic departments.
  • Authorize course work to be taken at other institutions based on college policy.
  • Support the college registration process during the registration appointment windows and orientation.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Working knowledge of student information systems and strong and strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to leverage technology to increase effectiveness.
  • Ability to initiate the use of functionality in Oracle/PeopleSoft (PAWS) as it relates to Academic Advising.
