Clinical Professor of Clinical Oncology with Special Focus on Radiotherapy of Metastatic Cancer (Fixed-Term, 5 Years) Department of Clinical Medicine

The University seeks to appoint a clinical professor of Clinical Oncology with special focus on Radiotherapy of Metastatic Cancer to commence as soon as possible. The externally funded professorship is combined with a consultancy at Copenhagen University Hospital Herlev-Gentofte, Department of Oncology in the Capital Region .
It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the professorship and the consultancy. Both the professorship and the consultancy will be financed by Copenhagen University Hospital – Herlev-Gentofte.

Job description In the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Clinical Oncology.
The professor's responsibilities will primarily consist of:
Research, including publication/academic dissemination: The professorship aims to strengthen the area of research in radiotherapy of metastatic cancer with focus on patient related research within radiation therapy with bridging to the radio physical research area.
Research-based teaching, including associated examination: The professor's responsibilities will consist of research-based teaching, participation in academic assessments, guiding and supervising researchers, and sharing knowledge with the public.
Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of bachelor and master students as well as PhD students: The professorship must contribute to strengthening the hospital's role as a national leader in the further development of stereotactic radiation treatment of metastases, which is used to an increasing extent after the introduction of more effective systemic treatment.
Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate

Terms of employment The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 5 years.
For the professorship the appointee will receive a pensionable annual salary of DKK 200,193.32 (1 October 2023 level).
