You're fresh out of school and ready to take the medical world by storm. Or are you? You can do much more and give yourself a pay raise with physician certifications.

Not all certifications will give you the benefits listed. Some are more worth it than others. Musculoskeletal sonographers, for example, are pretty high in demand.

Coding specialists and family doctors are also pretty valuable. If you have one of these certifications, you'll be able to work anywhere you want.

Are you ready to get started with advancing your career? Grab your study books and get ready to grab one of the certifications on this list.

1. Musculoskeletal Sonography

First up on the list is musculoskeletal sonography. Taking your RMSK registry exam will be a lot of work, but it will more than pay off in the end.

This program is still pretty new, so there aren't a lot of certified musculoskeletal sonographers that you'll have to compete with. You'll also have your pick when it comes to where you work. You could specialize in sports medicine or put all your eggs in the radiology basket.

No matter what you choose, your job will be to check muscles, tendons, soft tissue, and ligaments for tears. You'll also assist with certain procedures and injections.

2. Certified Coding Specialist

The main benefit of being a coding specialist and meeting all the physician certification requirements to get your CCS-P is that you can work from home if you want. As long as you adhere to HIPAA guidelines, you're good to go.

This is also a job where you'll always be learning more things about your career field, and there are plenty of opportunities for advancement.

Your job will revolve around translating a patient's records into a code that the insurance companies can use. It sounds complicated, but you can learn how to do it in a matter of months.

3. Family Medicine

Getting family medicine certifications is right for those who want a little variety in their work. No two days on the job will be the same.

You won't have many one-off patients. You'll be in contact with the same circle of people every year. This allows you to grow a relationship with your patients.

On top of diagnosing and providing treatment for common ailements, you'll also act as a means for preventive care. People will come to you for checkups and vaccinations.

By getting this certification for doctors, you'll be qualified to give advice that will help people make crucial lifestyle changes relating to their health. You'll also be the one people go to for chronic conditions such as asthma or diabetes.
