Baillie Gifford Scholarship for Mental Health Nursing Students Overview

Baillie Gifford also supports STEM scholarships for Women within the School of Design and informatics at Abertay University.

The Scholarship is opened to students commencing year 2 of the Mental Health Nursing degree. There are four scholarships on offer to students

Students who have overcome challenging circumstances to attend university, are from a low-income background, or are at risk of leaving their studies will benefit from the scholarship. However, the students who can demonstrate within their application how the scholarship can help them and has ambitions to work in Mental Health Nursing after they graduate will receive the scholarship.


To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be commencing year 2 of the BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing degree in September 2022
  • Be able to demonstrate a financial need for support in the application form
  • Be able to demonstrate that applicants intend to have a career in mental health nursing when they graduate
  • Be willing to meet the award conditions set out in the guidance notes.
