This is a part-time remote position. Marshall University is working with West Virginia University to establish two West Virginia Grant Resource Centers (WV Grants Center) to assist local government and other eligible applicants with grant identification, writing and submission – to develop a stronger,grant capacity ecosystem. The Student Worker will provide support to WV Grants Center staff on a variety of administrative and project-based tasks, including helping with gathering data for project narratives, writing grants, organizing events, workshops, and training sessions, and responding to inquiries. The Student Worker will have an opportunity to learn about grant writing, federal funding agencies, funding opportunities, project management, and budget development. Responsibilities:: This position requires a student who is detailed oriented, organized, and able to work well independently and in team settings. The student will be responsible for assisting WV Grants Center staff with writing project narratives; putting together competitive application packages; organizing and hosting meetings, workshops, and training sessions; drafting letters of support; reviewing and summarizing notices of funding opportunities; and managing and responding to inquiries submitted by email or through the WV Grants Center website's portal/intake form. The student must be able perform all job duties as outlined in the job description. The Student Worker will be provided with a computer.

Location MURC - Marshall University Research Corporation Salary Range $14.50/hr

Required Qualifications

Education

A Bachelor's Degree is required.

Experience

The student must be fully admitted into or currently enrolled in a graduate school program at Marshall University.
