Job Summary The University of Southern Mississippi invites applicants for a temporary, one-week position of Broadcast Boot Camp counselor to begin July 9.

The successful candidate will have a background in journalism or media production and be able to pass a background check.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee high school students in a residential hall setting.
  • Spend evenings and nights in a USM residence hall.
  • Be accessible to the students and solve problems as they present themselves.
  • Communicate regularly with fellow counselors and the workshop director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications

    High School diploma or GED. Over the age of 18. Demonstrated campus media experience.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working with high school students in a productive, supportive manner.

  • The ability to work with diverse groups/populations

  • Preferred Qualifications

    Prior experience teaching or working in a campus setting. College degree.
