Duties and Responsibilities:
Students working in Archives & Special Collections will assist the Archives & Special Collections Librarian with collections work and public services for researchers and users. Collections work includes the processing of archive materials, which may require writing descriptions, creating inventories, rehousing materials, and arranging folders. Students will also be responsible for retrieving, shifting, and shelving collection material, and photocopying. Students will also assist with digital preservation projects, which may require scanning documents, uploading materials to an online repository, adding metadata, and other processing as directed. Students may also assist in answering phone calls and assisting visitors, responding to reference requests, and monitoring researchers in the Archives & Special Collections dept. 10-12 hours per week

Experience using Word and Excel
Able to respond well to feedback, communicate clearly and follow exact directions
Able lift up to 50 lbs.
Interest in history, literature or libraries is a plus
