Job Title WORK STUDY STUDENT ASSISTANT-LIBRARY SERVICES

Position Status Work Study Classification Title CWS-Up to 15 hpw Work Location Main Campus - 3600 N Garfield St, Midland TX 79705 Job Summary

Assist customers of the library and work at the circulation desk as needed. Weekend and evening availability is needed.

Required Qualifications

Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes Must meet all Work Study eligibility requirements through the Financial Aid Office Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of general office equipment including copier, fax machine, and multi-line telephone Basic computer skills including data entry experience

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to provide basic technical support for computers

Essential Functions

Provide assistance to students, faculty, and other library customers Greet customers and provide assistance with the resources of the library Answer phone Provide clerical support Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 25 pounds Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time Work is mostly performed indoors; some outdoor Midland College or community events may be required The person in this position needs to occasionally move/travel from the office to other locations on or off-campus The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
