Purpose of Position

The Manager of the Welcome Center will counsel students and families about postsecondary options and recruit them to NKU including conducting individual and group information sessions and provide tours of the campus.

Designs and implements campus visitation programs, and oversees all aspects of customer service for the Office of Admissions. The incumbent will assist with enrollment initiatives including admission, recruitment and yield events, mailings and communications, walk-in admission counseling, and other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate campus visit programs including Norse Days, and high school group visits. Serve as the primary point of contact for academic departments that host daily visits.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee customer service programs and training for staff and students in Admissions Office. Handle customer service issues or complaints. Develop and distribute a weekly customer service schedule.
  • Coordinate all visit activities in the Welcome Center, and serve as a collaborator to the campus community and departments with managing on- campus events..
  • Provide support for all admissions on campus and off-campus special events.
  • Set the standard for exceptional customer service practices by providing outstanding service to all prospective students and Welcome Center visitors.
  • Provide administrative support, budget management, and office management for Welcome Center operations and general admission recruitment and yield initiatives, including fulfillment mailings.
  • Respond to and ensure that all student inquiries via email, phone, and Slate text are answered in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Serve as the coordinator to schedule support for any summer camps or agreed partnerships.
  • Maintain an inventory of visit supplies.
  • Manage other special projects/assignments as assigned. Some evening and/or weekend hours will be required for this position.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience required.

  • A minimum of two years experience in education, whether college admission, recruitment, student or academic services, preferably with direct responsibility for managing an operation that delivered exceptional customer service.

  • Experience in a college admission office is strongly preferred. Strong organizational, planning, project management, and communication skills. Some evening and/or weekend hours will be required for this position.

  • Some light lifting may be needed and a valid driver's license and dependable vehicle are required.
