Title Visiting Lecturer

Appointment Status Non-Tenure Track Department IU Bloomington Sociology Position Summary

The Department of Sociology at Indiana University seeks applications to fill a one-year visiting lecturer position commencing August 2021. The teaching load is three courses per semester, including two sections of Introduction to sociology and one upper-level course, depending on need. Mode of instruction is in-person. Preference is for someone who has a strong record of teaching introductory sociology, with additional teaching experience in sociology of media, social deviance, mental health, race and ethnicity, theory or methods. A PhD is required but ABD will be considered. The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in the scholarly life of the department and will have access to campus and departmental resources to support their teaching.
