Herron School of Art + Design invites applications for a one-year visiting appointment as a Lecturer in Visual Communication Design. At Herron, lecturer positions are teaching-intensive, making them an ideal position for someone who is wanting to work closely with students or hone their skills as an educator. We seek candidates with a record of excellent creative or professional practice, innovative pedagogy, and relevant teaching experience in visual communication design. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in and capacity for delivering courses in VCD undergraduate programs. Candidates should also be open to collaborating with faculty in the areas of Drawing & Illustration, Photography, or Printmaking to explore new educational opportunities for our students.

Responsibilities: This teaching position entails instructing, coaching, and preparing students studying visual communication design and working with faculty across the department and school to deliver and improve upon our course offerings. This faculty position will entail a 4-4 course load. Teaching might entail a combination of on-the-ground, hybrid, and online platforms. The position is for one year with the possibility of renewal.
In addition to teaching four classes per semester (or the equivalent), the position requires the successful applicant to plan and administer courses and programs in conjunction with the faculty and administration. Additional service to the school and university may also be required.
