The Department of English at the University of Central Arkansas invites
applications for a Visiting Lecturer. The department fully supports and is
integral to the university's goals in academic excellence, diversity, equity,

The UCA English Department offers the BA in English, the BA in English with
teaching licensure, and the MA in English. The department's faculty is highly
engaged in scholarly production and learner-centered pedagogies. The
department is home to about 110 undergraduate majors and a small but strong
cadre of graduate students.
This is a one-year position subject to renewal based upon performance and
departmental need. Visiting Lecturers teach 24 credit hours per academic year,
which will be spread evenly across the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.
The department hopes to make a permanent hire during Academic Year 2021-2022.

Required Education and/or Experience
• an MA in English.
• at least one year of successful teaching experience at the university level.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
• ABD in English or possess the PhD in English.
• specialists either in British and Anglophone literatures since 1800, or
American literatures that center African American, American Indian, and/or
• pursuing a research and teaching agenda that cuts across literary and film
studies, or in poetry, poetics, and hermeneutics.
