The University of Central Arkansas visiting faculty is responsible for teaching, research and service. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is non-tenure track and a one year appointment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position is needed to teach a range of courses including introductory criminal justice. The expected course load for this position is four course sections per semester taught in-person, face-to-face, in a traditional classroom setting. The successful candidate should also be prepared to teach select sections in online, hybrid, or blended modes if needed. Other responsibilities include faculty meeting participation and compliance with all employee workplace training/monitoring requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Broad-based knowledge of and training in criminology or criminal justice (preferably with some background in sociology). Must be prepared to teach introductory criminal justice and other criminology or sociology courses. Ideal candidates will also be comfortable designing and delivering undergraduate courses in at least one of the following areas: introductory criminal law, social problems, drug crimes, terrorism, corrections, or criminal courts. Research emphases should be aligned with teaching interests. A commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching is paramount.

Required Education and/or Experience
Completed master's degree in Sociology, Criminology, or Criminal Justice is required.
