Description:

Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is seeking candidates for the position of visiting nursing faculty in the School of Health Sciences. The visiting nursing instructor will teach class and clinical courses, while providing creativity in the learning environment and fostering student engagement. This is a 10-month appointment and will report directly to the Department Chair of Nursing.

Responsibilities

Effectively teach and evaluate nursing students in both classroom and clinical settings.

Collaborate with nursing faculty to ensure student learning and program outcomes are met.

Advise/mentor students as assigned by school

Assist in simulation and clinical practice laboratories as assigned

Salary

Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum

Master's degree in nursing

Minimum of 3 years prior employment in direct patient care and clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse

Must be able to develop, implement and evaluate teaching plans for classroom and clinical settings

Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

Must be collegial with faculty, staff and students

Embrace diversity, equity and inclusion

Preferred

Doctoral degree in Nursing

Two years' experience in nursing education (college or clinical)

Certified as Nurse Educator

Skills with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB & Microsoft Office Software

Required License Or Certification

Must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in Georgia or have eligibility to obtain Georgia Registered Nurse License.

Must have current BCLS certification

Physical Requirements

Position requires local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Job takes place in normal environmental conditions.
