Position Title (Classification Title): Visiting Instructor of Instructional Design and Technology 117450 Working Title: Visiting Instructor Job Summary: The position requires innovation in teaching and learning, professional development, a commitment to collegiality, academic citizenship and cultural diversity. The Department of Instructional Design and Technology and the College of Education and Professional Studies emphasize community engagement, high impact educational practices, and purposeful mentoring. Grantsmanship is encouraged and supported.

The successful candidate will teach fully online, graduate and undergraduate level courses, in Instructional Design and Technology. Expertise in the following areas is preferred: • Instructional Systems Design • Current and Emerging Technologies • Human Performance Improvement The successful candidate will provide direct student support through supervision of Bachelors and Masters level capstone projects and purposeful mentoring of students, and may be asked to serve on dissertation committees within their areas of expertise. The successful candidate will also provide service to the department, college, university and community. Department Instructional Design and Technology FLSA: Exempt Position Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D or Ed.D in Instructional Design and Technology or closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and professional service. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D or Ed.D (or ABD with completion by start date) in a related field from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and service, and an established research agenda that will guide the candidate's scholarly career in applied research and contribute to the national dialogue on important issues in the candidate's field of study. Experience teaching fully online undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level courses; mentoring undergraduate and graduate-level students; participating in department initiatives related to curriculum and program development; and the design of quality online learning experiences.
