    You are a passionate videographer with a keen news sense and the ability to find and tell stories in compelling ways. You have the drive and knowhow to take a story from concept to completed video, tailoring content for a range of channels and audiences. You are an outstanding communicator, comfortable in a fast-paced environment. You can easily build rapport with a diverse range of people using a pragmatic and empathy driven approach. You are authentic, imaginative and enthusiastic, and enjoy contributing to a fun and collaborative team culture.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Manager Media Centre, you will showcase the University's research and education strengths through video. You will devise and develop videos that tell UniSA stories in a compelling way, aligned with the UniSA brand and voice. Operating as a one-person video unit but part of a wider in- house news team, you'll be responsible for producing, scripting, shooting and editing videos from start to finish, while engaging with people from across the University. You'll also be responsible for managing UniSA campus screen content and its YouTube channel, so will need to be highly organised and creative with an eye for detail.

    The Communications and Marketing Unit's (CMK) role is to raise the profile of UniSA and enhance the understanding and recognition of its strengths and diversities; internally, externally and internationally among key target groups including staff, students, graduates, prospective students, government, media, business, professions, other educational bodies and the wider community.     Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, filmmaking multimedia, or related discipline: or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills and a commitment to ongoing personal development
  • Demonstrated experience as a video journalist or video content creator, using film to communicate news stories (or equivalent) for internal and external audiences, including script writing
  • Practical experience in all aspects of filmmaking including: directing, camera operation, lighting, sound recording, editing and other post production processes
  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects (or equivalent video, photo editing and graphics creation software)
  • Demonstrated understanding of established and emerging digital technologies as marketing and communication tools
  • High level interpersonal, networking and facilitation skills to enable effective interaction with a diverse range of people and cultures at a variety of levels both internal and external to the University
  • High level project management skills including experience in work planning, prioritising to meet deadlines, often with competing demands, in a complex team environment
