    The Office of Financial Resources & Operations provides the expertise, tools and other vital resources and services to help the campus community make informed decisions, plan thoughtfully for the future, and utilize its resources in the most effective and efficient manner. HSC is a complex organization that has a budget of over $300 million allocated over two hundred fund sources with employees totaling over 1,600 FTEs.

    Salary Information Commensurate with experience Position Summary

    Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Vice President of Finance and Planning serves as a member of the of the Division of Finance senior management team. The Vice President is responsible for oversight and management of all day-to-day activities regarding financial resource use and development, business reporting and systems, and policy and internal controls. The Vice President supports the CFO in implementing ongoing efforts to develop operating strategies that enhance revenue and efficiency, lead to more cost-effective fiscal administrative practices, and furthers the mission and strategic goals of the institution in the area of finance. The Vice President provides leadership and direction to the Director, Strategic Analysis and Reporting; Director, Financial Systems; and Director, Budgets and Senior Administrator Coordinator.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to lead a complex multi-function enterprise with the highest standards of fiscal efficiency and customer service.
  • Ability to interpret business and operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Ability to implement new procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Skill at developing, designing, and implementing operational and procedural policies, new administrative policies, reports, procedures and practices.
  • Understanding and implementation of teambuilding and collaborative decision-making process within and across division/department lines.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the higher education state appropriations formula and non-formula funding process, procedures and calculations.
  • Knowledge of current financial visualization tools and dashboards that aid in the development financial trends and metrics.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, University policies and procedures, and laws and regulations pertaining to financial operations.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

  • Master's in Business Administration or Health Related field
  • CPA
