The Clinical Trials Research Assistant will support work in research related to the department. The assistant has several job functions related to clinical trials: database management, facilitating coordination and execution of multi- site trials, patient screening, recruitment, and tracking of clinical trial activity. Facilitation of patient enrollment in trials will be a major focus. With direction, the research assistant will assist the supervisor in IRB processing and manage regulatory documentation of current and historical trials

Department Required Skills

Ability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently. Optional research certification preferred. Strong preference for candidates with familiarity with clinical research, particularly in screening and enrollment in multi-site trials. Individual must be well organized with an attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential in dealing with various internal and external entities. High level of organizational skills, specifically with electronic files. High level of efficiency and ability to self-start is key. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products – preferred expertise with Microsoft Word, specifically track changes functionality, and Microsoft Excel (formulas, logical statements, conditional formatting). Working knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to cardiovascular disease and heart failure
