Duties: Care will be provided in a clinical research outpatient care setting under the supervision of a registered nurse to healthy normal volunteer research participants and to those participants with unusual and distinctive medical problems. The LPN will provide direct, individualized nursing care to adult (60%) and pediatric (40%) research participants including phlebotomy and IV insertion, administering medications, performing ECG's, collecting and processing specimens, obtaining vital signs and measuring height and weight, providing direction and health teaching where applicable and within scope of practice in relation to study protocol activities, reporting and recording care rendered, and reporting the patient's response to that care. The LPN will also perform front desk and administrative activities which include patient check-in/out and creation of outpatient visits in Epic as well as daily tasks related to stocking of supplies, quality assurance and other office duties based upon unit needs. The candidate must be detail-oriented, flexible, ability to work independently and as well as part of a team and exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR) or be able to obtain within 4 weeks of hire. Previous UNC Health, UNC Medical Center, Epic and/or clinical research experience preferred but not required. Proficiency in phlebotomy and/or IV insertion preferred but not required.

Work Schedule 30-40 hours a week depending on selected candidate's availability. Rotating shifts of either 7 am – 4 pm Monday through Thursday, and 7 am – 1:30 pm on Friday or 7 am – 5:30 pm Monday – Thursday with an occasional weekday evening shifts based on unit need
