The USVI SEAS Islands Alliance Program Coordinator will provide program management support for daily activities associated with the SEAS Islands Alliance and affiliated programs. The SEAS Islands Alliance is a 5-year program to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in the marine and environmental sciences in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Guam, funded by the National Science Foundation, now at the start of Year 4. Duties include managing budgets, tracking expenses, office administration and activity organization tasks, managing procurement card purchases, assisting with program travel and student employment requisitions, public relations and recruiting activities, data entry, participation in program working groups, participant support, and assistance with reporting

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Must possess excellent verbal and written skills

Superior organizational skills

Proficient computer skills

Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams and be detail oriented.

Proven interpersonal skills with cross-cultural experience providing complex administrative support in a high-profile environment with tact and diplomacy.

Experience managing a budget with multiple deadlines.

Ability to present ideas in professional yet user-friendly language.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work across teams and with various projects and constituencies.

Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Proven office administration and customer service skills.

Working knowledge of office processes, business policy development, and related computer software and electronic communications tools.

Has already completed or has the ability to obtain, CITI human subject research completion for UVI.

Experience managing or creating high-quality content for professional media relations.

Project includes communications with collaborators across time zones therefore able to work outside typical work hours is necessary.

Demonstrate the ability to work independently, and have interpersonal skills to comfortably interface with diverse project members, partners, and students.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent experience;

Experience with federally-funded programs or University programs;

Experience in grant administration and reporting

Data management experience.

Experience in higher education, STEM, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts

Experience working with island communities

Physical Demands

Must be self-motivated.

Must have the ability to be professional and composed at all times.

Must have the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.

Work environment: The noise level in the work environment will be moderate

Some work duties may occur outside typical work day hours because of time differences across project partners
