process for the post of
a UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR
in the research and faculty staff member group
of the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science
in academic discipline: Technical Computer Science and Telecommunications
in one of the fields:
1) Design, modeling and programming of modern integrated circuits including
and quantum computations circuits.
2) Application of artificial intelligence to design, modeling and testing
integrated circuits (EDA).
The candidates who would like to take part in the competitive selection
process should send the following documents to the email address
letter of intent or interest,
preliminary research proposal to be carried out during the employment at JU, which should fit in the scope of this notification,
resume which should contain: a list of publications, a list of awards and distinctions obtained,
a list of internships and stays in research institutions, a list of completed
and ongoing research projects (as a PI or contractor) with an indication of
essay presenting the candidate's most important achievements and research plans to be conducted a JU,
personal questionnaire filled in by the candidate,
copy of the doctoral diploma or a diploma confirming the candidate's habilitation degree,
information on the candidate's scientific, teaching and organizational achievements,
information concerning the academic courses taught by the candidate, if any,
doctoral dissertation or habilitation dissertation reviews, if applicable,
declaration of the candidate, confirming that the Jagiellonian University will be their primary place of work, in case of winning the selection process,
declaration under Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science,
declaration on acknowledging and accepting the rules and regulations concerning intellectual property management and commercialization in force at the Jagiellonian University,
information regarding processing of personal data.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview.

The competitive selection process will be concluded by 15th October 2022
Date of commencement of work: 1st November 2022 at the latest.
The competitive selection process is open for all individuals who meet the
requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.2) of the Act of 20 July 2018
– Law on Higher Education and Science, and who meet the following eligibility
criteria according to § 163 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:
holding at least a doctoral degree;
having significant and creative achievements in scientific, professional or artistic work in the form of, among others: publications in years 2014-2020 in reputable journals or reputable conferences (CORE: A) dedicated to advanced methods of integrated circuits design or artificial intelligence;
having achievements in organizational work;
having achievements in teaching work.

An ideal candidate should:
actively take part in academic life, in particular by presenting
their research at international conferences and symposia,
have a track record of interdisciplinary scientific research or cooperation with socio-economic environment,
have organizational experience, in particular a track record of participating in or obtaining external, competitive research funding,
participate in an ongoing academic collaboration with leading research institutions,
have experience in popularizing their research or innovative education,
have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
The post holder (subject to evaluation after 24 months) is required to:
publish articles in which JU is the only Polish affiliation in
leading journals or at CORE-ranked conferences
submit at least one external Polish or international grant proposal affiliated at JU, ,
engage in interdisciplinary research with other members of the JU academic community.
