The Institute of Chemistry is looking for a

University Assistant without doctorate

(30 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 4 years; position to be filled as of September 1st 2021 )

Your duties
  • Research in the field of biocatalysis and sustainable synthetic chemistry
  • Cloning and expression of enzymes along with their applications as biocatalysts
  • Investigations of enzymatic reactions (including structures of products and catalytic activity) with strong focus on environmental friendliness and safety of the processes
  • Writing of scientific publications
  • Participation in teaching, organizational and administrative tasks
  • Supervision of undergraduate students
  • The output of the research should be the basis for a doctoral thesis
  • Your profile
  • Master's degree or equivalent in chemistry or a related field (such as molecular biology or biochemistry)
  • Excellent knowledge in the field of biocatalysis and organic synthesis
  • Knowledge in one or several of the following areas: analysis of organic compounds (GC, HPLC, NMR), molecular biology, quantum chemistry
  • Excellent English proficiency
  • Good command of German is a plus
  • Didactic suitability for teaching
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • High motivation to reach scientific excellence in research
  • Ability to work in teams

    Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1

    Minimum salary

    The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 2228.60 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
