    University Assistant (must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree) for a full-time, six-year position at the Institute of Computer Graphics

    Job Duties:

  • Conduct scientific research in the field of visual data science (visualization and visual analytics)
  • Contribute to collaborative research projects
  • Publish scientific findings in renowned international journals and at conferences
  • Undertake short-term research stays at international collaboration partners
  • Teach university-level classes at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Contribute to the department's administrative activities
  • Co-supervise Bachelor's and Master's students and Ph.D. candidates
  • Your Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree in a corresponding discipline (computer science, mathematics, bioinformatics, statistics, or the like)
  • The successful candidate is expected to possess expertise in one or more of the following fields: Data Visualization and Visual Analytics, Data Mining, Statistics, Machine Learning, Human-Computer Interaction
  • Programming skills in web technologies (e.g. HTML5, D3.js, JavaScript) as well as Scripting Language (Python and R) are an advantage
  • Be highly motivated and demonstrate commitment to research and teaching
  • The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively as part of a team
  • Possess a high level of proficiency in English (level C1), an understanding of German is a plus
