Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Administrator for the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The Unit Administrator provides administrative support to unit management by assisting with the coordination and administration of programs, projects, and/or processes and with the preparation and control of records, statistics, reports and documents.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Processes various financial documents and data.
  • Analyzes data and prepares internal financial reports consistent with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the unit.
  • Prepares and coordinates business activities, which include payroll analysis, accounting, policy dissemination and application, and reporting. Work is usually reviewed upon completion.
  • Performs professional work requiring knowledge of general accounting principles and practices, and the basic application of concepts, theories, and terminology of accounting.
  • Works under direct supervision with specific instructions on routine or semi-routine work.

    Minimum Education and Experience

    •Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. •Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

    Certifications/Licenses Preferred Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, robust expertise of Microsoft Excel and experience in budgeting.
  • Abilities in various software supporting finance management (Oracle), payroll (Tableau reports), human resources (Peoplesoft) and Research Administration and Proposal Submission (RAPPS).

    Immunization Requirements
