Undergraduate Student Co-ordinator (Part Time)

The Institute of Astronomy is seeking an Administrator for 25 hours per week to be worked mornings, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility over term- time/holiday working may be possible, as well as the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis out of term.

The role will provide support as one of the three Administrators in our Student Office, having particular responsibility for all Undergraduate functions, but it will also provide mutual support for Postgraduate matters.

The successful candidate will be educated to A level standard or equivalent, and will need to be proficient in the use of IT with competence in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and web packages. A knowledge of, or willingness to learn Drupal and also the University's student records system, CamSIS, is essential.

Excellent organizational skills as well as written and verbal communication skills will be required, together with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

An ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail will be essential.

Previous experience of undergraduate administration (course handbook preparation, lecture timetables, maintenance of key documentation, updating of website information, dealing with routine enquiries from students) and of examinations administration (assisting with production of examination materials, dealing with coursework, handling scripts, organizing Examiners' meetings) is essential. Experience of the Natural Sciences tripos is desirable.
