Position Summary:

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Justice Department is seeking a motivated individual to be part of a progressive, nationally-ranked academic program with a strong student base and opportunity to expand upon course offerings as a Term Clinical Assistant Professor (bipartite).

Duties:

20%Service – Serve on various committees at the department, College and University level and provide service to the community.Essential

80%Teaching: Teach four courses per semesterEssential

The University is able to offer flexibility for this position in terms of in-person and remote work options. Remote work must be within the United States.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Justice seeks a motivated individual for the position of Term Clinical Assistant Professor. Teaching experience in the areas of Policing, Courts, Criminology, Program Planning, Corrections and Restorative Justice is preferred.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include, but are not limited to: knowledge of a variety of Justice topics, such as Policing, Courts, Criminology, Program Planning, Corrections and Restorative Justice, and or Public Administration; good interpersonal communication skills; ability to conduct program coordination, evaluation, and management of program initiatives; knowledge of the internet, social media, and other resources; and the ability to effectively present information in written form.

Typical experience includes: experience teaching or training, or field experience in Justice related topics; experience with web-based educational platforms; experience working with social service and community agencies; and experience presenting on justice-related topics in group settings.

The successful applicant must hold a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Public Administration or another Justice-related field at the time of appointment.
