    Wage: $15/hour for up to 10 hours/week during the academic year.

    Work Schedule : M-TH: 3:00-4:00pm at their specified schools. F: Must attend team meetings and submit contacts (these can be flexible to fit schedules).

    Job Description: TRIO Talent Search is a free educational program designed to assist 6th-12th grade participants in their preparation for enrollment into any college of their choice. The goal of TRIO TS is to increase the likelihood that participants graduate from high school and enroll in college. This goal is accomplished by providing participants with academic, financial, career, and pre-college advising. TRIO Talent Search is looking to hire (2) part-time tutors who are equipped to support 6th-12 grade students in a variety of subjects. This position will be on-site at their specified schools in Cedar Rapids, IA from 3:00pm-4:00pm, one/two days a week.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide academic tutoring in Rigorous Secondary School Courses to assigned program participants
  • Document all contacts with participants on Individual and/or Group Service Logs and turn them into the program advisors
  • Participate in team meetings every week (virtual/in-person)
  • Adhere to college and program policies and procedures
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:

  • Upperclassman in college minimum 24 hours completed (juniors and seniors highly preferred)
  • GPA Requirements: 3.0 and above
  • Preferred fields of study: Education, Human Services, English, Mathematics, Sciences or related STEM field to assist with TS areas
  • Preference given to current/prior TRIO students
