  • About the Role We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our team with a central role in an exciting National Health and Medical Research Council-funded clinical trial examining digitally-supported psychological treatment for persisting hallucinations in psychosis/schizophrenia. The trial is comparing cognitive behavioural therapy with a new virtual reality-assisted therapy called avatar therapy, delivered across Australia via telehealth from our pioneering Voices Clinic.

    The role will primarily be involved in co-ordination of the trial, alongside contributing to and developing research associated with this research program, student supervision and other research activities. The role will join a vibrant clinical research team committed to advancing psychological approaches to severe mental illness.

    About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Knowledge and experience in research methods relevant to psychological treatment research
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to develop a good rapport with participants and clinical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of ethical principles relevant to conducting research with clinical populations
  • Demonstrated research interest and experience in hallucinations, psychological interventions for psychosis and/or digital mental health
  • Qualifications

  • PhD in psychology or other relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
