    for three postdoc positions in plant science and related area at the IPG PAS in the framework of Horizon 2020 ERA Chair project (NANOPLANT- GA856961) funded by the EU.

    Contract type: Full-time employment for fixed term for 2-3 years, position assistant, adiunct or associate professor depending on experience

    Salary range: 3200,00 Euro per month (gross)

    Job location: IPG PAS, Poznań, Poland

    Start date: As soon as possible

    Required Qualifications

    Postdoc 1 (Plant biotechnology) :

  • Ph.D. in plant science, biotechnology or a related field.
  • Proven experience in plant tissue culture and molecular biology.
  • Experience with transcriptome analysis.
  • At least one publication in a reputed journal as first author.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Postdoc 2 (Phytochemistry) :

  • Ph.D. in plant science, biochemistry or a related field.
  • Proven experience in phytochemical analysis.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and secondary metabolic pathways.
  • At least one publication in a reputed journal as first author.

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills in English.

  • Postdoc 3 (Plant nanotechnology) :

  • Ph.D. in plant science, nanotechnology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the application of nanomaterials in plant research.
  • At least one publication in a reputed journal as first author.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Main duties

    Postdoc 1 (Plant biotechnology):

  • Establishment and maintenance of plant cell, tissue and organ cultures in vitro.
  • Plant overexpression, RNAi/ CRISPR-Cas9 vector construction.
  • Plant transformation and molecular confirmation of transgenic plants.
  • Transcriptomic analysis of model and non-model plants.
  • Preparation of high quality scientific articles for publication and presentation of results in seminars and other scientific meetings.
  • Drafting of progress reports.
  • Postdoc 2 (Phytochemistry) :

  • Analysis of plant primary / secondary metabolites using liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry approach.
  • Analysis of data using metabolomics tools.
  • Prediction of secondary metabolic pathways using informatics tools.
  • Preparation of high quality scientific articles for publication and presentation of results in seminars and other scientific meetings.
  • Drafting of progress reports.
  • Postdoc 3 (Plant nanotechnology) :

  • Study nanoparticles / nanoformulations for applications in plants (fertilizer, disinfectant, bio-compost, seed coating etc.).
  • Physico-chemical characterization of nanomaterials.
  • Preparation of high quality scientific articles for publication and presentation of results in seminars and other scientific meetings.
  • Drafting of progress reports.

    Selection Process

    The documents submitted by the candidates will be evaluated by the Selection Committee for the candidate's suitability for the position. Potential candidate(s) will be invited for an interview via videoconferencing or by visiting IPGPAS. The selection process will continue until suitable candidates are found.

    Criteria for the assessment of candidates to be employed at the IPG PAS in postdoc positions:

  • Matching the candidate's experience and skills to the planned field of study.
  • Creativity measured by:

  • the quality and number of publications in which the candidate is the first author or corresponding author, as well as the number of citations of the candidate's papers (Web of Science Core Collection) and the Hirsch index;

  • number of patents/patent applications and/or implementations (if applicable);
  • the quality and number of managed research projects and development works (if applicable).

  • Mobility in their scientific career, including completed scientific internships, change of scientific profile, internships and work in industry.

  • Announcement of the results: As soon as the positions are filled.
