Job description

This is a limited term 2 year post hosted by Recycling Lives Limited and the University of Central Lancashire. The aim of the project is to develop alternative products from thermal treatment of waste streams to reduce the environmental burden of their disposal. New revenue streams will be created, and existing land fill costs will be reduced. Working within the Research Development and Innovation Division, this is a 24-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the company at an exciting stage in their development.

We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable capability in one of the areas of chemical/process/energy engineering or chemistry and familiarity with a range of scientific instrumentation and analytical techniques. Utilising excellent literacy and numeracy skills and a methodical approach to work, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of successful project work. The successful candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with wide range of stakeholders.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum 2:1 BEng/BSc in either Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering or relevant Energy Engineering degree. Alternatively, they may hold a Master degree or a PHD (or near completion) in a relevant area such as Energy Engineering. The KTP programme will support registration for a higher degree. Although this is initially a 24 month programme the company sees huge potential for the successful candidate to progress in the company.

Located in Preston, Lancashire (PR2 5BX), Recycling Lives Ltd, (www. recyclinglives.com) is a three times recipient of the Queen's Award, commercial recycler with over forty years' experience in the recycling and waste management industry.
