The Department of Music at Bethel University (IN) is seeking applications from qualified candidates who will be a charismatic and forward-looking leader who will serve as chair of the Department of Music and who will grow the Music program. The position starts August 2023. Bethel is an intentionally Christ- centered institution which hires faculty who demonstrate a strong Christian faith. The Department of Music serves three majors (General Music, Music Education, and Music Performance). The successful candidate will teach courses in his/her area(s) of expertise, as well as advise students in the appropriate majors. Preference will be given to those with experience in Music Education and in Choral Conducting, but all emphasis areas will be considered. Ideal candidates will also demonstrate teaching excellence, interest in strong interaction with students, possess an interest in cooperative programs in Christian Liberal Arts settings and indicate ways they will support the University's commitment to diversity. Normal faculty duties include twelve hours of undergraduate teaching per semester as well as departmental and professional responsibilities listed above.
Education : Preferred doctorate degree in Music.
