Lawrence University of Wisconsin, a selective undergraduate liberal arts
college and conservatory of music located in Appleton, Wisconsin, invites
applications for a full-time tenure track (rank open) position of Mark
Burstein Professor of Global and Public Health, beginning September 1, 2022.
We seek an excellent teacher and scholar who is passionate about working with
undergraduates in a liberal arts setting while actively engaging in research.
We are open to candidates trained in a wide range of research areas and are
particularly interested in candidates whose research activity is conducive to
active participation by undergraduates. We expect the successful candidate to
play a significant leadership role in developing and implementing a planned
minor in global and public health (GLPH) at Lawrence. By August 1, 2022,
candidates must have a masters or higher-level degree from a public health
program or school of public health, and a PhD or other appropriate terminal
degree in a field that corresponds to or aligns with an academic department or
program at Lawrence, which will become the faculty member's home department.
Teaching load is two courses per term for three ten-week terms a year, with
approximately four courses contributing to GLPH and two to Lawrence's First-
Year Studies program and home department non-GLPH needs on a rotating basis.
