Wabash College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Byron K. Trippet Assistant Professor of Classics to begin July 1, 2022. We are looking for someone whose teaching and research centers on the languages and literatures of ancient Greece and Rome. In addition, the successful candidate will be an excellent undergraduate teacher eager to contribute to a residential liberal arts community and capable of giving vibrant voice to the ancient world via teaching, service, and outreach. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Greek and Latin at all levels, mythology, special topics courses that complement and enrich our other course offerings, and all- college courses such as Freshman Tutorial and Enduring Questions. Course load is 3-3. Ph.D. is required by time of appointment.

We will begin reviewing applications November 1, 2021. We also request two brief statements about: 1) your teaching philosophy, and 2) how you can help to diversify the Wabash Classics curriculum and the broader campus community.
