Function as a key member of the university's Real Estate & Development Office by assisting with vibrancy-creating strategies. Enhance the sense of NC State's community on Centennial Campus through special events and promotions, produced by organized and efficient means. This role works directly with the Activation Program Manager, with the focus being on all members of the Centennial Community…students, faculty, staff, and private tenants.

Location: Centennial Campus, Partners I Building, with periodic event support that may occur in multiple locations around campus

Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Special Event & Activation Coordination

  • Assist in the planning, promotion, and coordination of special events and on-site activations. This includes monthly popup events, food truck rodeos, concerts and other community programming.
  • Assist with bringing Centennial Campus' new activation space, The Corner, to life through creative programming and onsite management.
  • Communication

  • Execute social media strategy through writing, curating and publishing engaging content for the Activation Program's social media platforms, which include Instagram & Facebook.
  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
  • Attend activation events and produce live social media content.
  • Collaborate with the activation team to create a social media calendar that aligns with the department's communications and marketing strategies.
  • Create flyers and billboards to share around campus and online.
  • NC State's Office of Real Estate and Development is responsible for the stewardship, management and development of the university's real estate portfolio, including Centennial Campus. Skillful governance of university land, building space and other property assets is essential to maintaining NC State's role as a leader in education and an economic engine for the state.

    NC State's property portfolio is large and varied — and so are the possibilities. Our office aids with leasing, access, management, development, acquisition, information and more.

  • Be an ambassador for University Real Estate and Development as a whole and enrich the quality of overall communication connectivity for the Centennial Campus community and support student success.
  • Work as a cohesive team member and play an integral part in creating a positive work environment.
  • Minimum Experience/Education

  • Experience using Canva, Adobe, or other creative/design development software
  • Associate's degree or combination of at least one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
  • Department Required Skills

  • Ability to take on new tasks and work independently
  • Creative and detail-oriented communications student to manage the organization's digital presence, predominantly social media.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrates initiative and curiosity in new projects

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools
